The BMW 3 Series E36 was a mid-size D-segment car produced by the German car manufacturer BMW from September 1990 to August 2000. It was the third generation of the successful 3 Series.


It was introduced in 1990, as the successor to the BMW E30, while its production lasted until February 1998 for the Sedan version and until 1999 for the Touring, Coupé and Cabrio versions.


The last version of the E36 Series was the entry-level 3 Compact, produced from 1994 to 2000.


In all its versions, the E36 was a huge commercial success in all the markets it was launched in, including Greece,


so much so that it laid a strong foundation for the further success of the 3 Series E46, which replaced the E36 in 1998.


In particular, the total production of the E36 reached 2,236,179 copies and the production of the successor E46 3,266,885 copies.
